Multiple earthquakes hit California today.  One earthquake hit with a 3.8-magnitude causing small tremors, according to the US Geological Survey. Two other earthquakes registered at a 2.8-magnitude and 3.0-magnitude along the coast in Eureka and in between Sacramento and San Jose in Californa. There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries, according to local news. A student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ogun State, who was in her final year of study, has died following childbirth complications. Olatundun Alexander Borokinni was an HND 2 student of the Department of Computer Science. She went into labor on Monday afternoon and was taken to a private hospital where her set of twin babies were delivered. However, she developed complications and was referred to Federal Medical Centre, FMC Idi-aba, Abeokuta. However, on the way to the hospital, the vehicle conveying her broke down, according to reports, and she died before they could get to FMC Abeokuta. The deceased and her mum in her last Facebook post shared on Mothers' Day Friends and coursemates have taken to social media to mourn the death of the young mother.

A shocking video has emerged showing an accused rapist being lynched by an angry mob for allegedly raping a pregnant woman and a four-year-old child in Colombia. The gruesome scene was filmed in the municipality of Soledad, in the northern Colombian department of Atlantico. According to local media, the lynched man, nicknamed ' Boca de Perro ' ( Dog mouth ), was an alleged serial rapist, who was accused of raping at least four victims, including a four-year-old girl and a pregnant woman. A teenager who falsely claimed her ex-boyfriend had raped her when they split up has been convicted of wasting police time. Hannah Sandover, 18, lied to a friend that her ex, also 18, had spiked her water bottle and forced himself on her in the back of the car after he refused to get back with her. A British passenger died after falling from a passenger jet on to a runway in Turkey yesterday. It has now emerged that he was "arguing with cabin crew" when it happened. 30-year-old Andrew Paul Westlake was being escorted off the plane following the argument when he fell from an exit to the concrete 15ft below. At first, local media reported Andrew's death was a suicide. Others claimed he may have been trying to get away from officials when he fell. But details of what happened emerged today. After boarding a flight at around 3am, Andrew is said to have become involved in an argument with cabin crew and escorted from the flight, the Hurriyet newspaper reported. It is thought he plummeted from a jetty linking the plane to the terminal and landed on the tarmac at Dalaman Airport on Tuesday.
