Five persons have been confirmed dead while others seriously injured in a suicide attack that took place in Konduga, Borno state today December 28th. A female suicide bomber infiltrated the community and detonated an IED strapped on her. The remains of the deceased victims have been deposited in the morgue while the injured victims are now being treated at the Borno State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri.

Britisih troops deployed to Afghanistan far away from their families were given only £1 each to celebrate Christmas. This month, Cameroonian troops crossed into Nigeria in pursuit of rebels without seeking authorisation from Nigeria and this caused a falling-out between the governments behind the scenes, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. At least one incursion was confirmed by a Nigerian government official, two Nigerian military officers and two foreign diplomats, all of whom spoke on condition of anonymity. A man accused of shooting to death his estranged wife and two young children shared a video where he was singing carols with his older son just hours before he killed him, his baby sister, and his mother on Christmas Day. Anthony Milan Ross, 45, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Harrowing footage has emerged showing Ross singing carols with his 11-year-old son Nigel, in a family clip filmed on Christmas Eve.
